This page is dedicated to Rasmus and Gustav, my dear friend Dango's incredible Sweden — he is very well canon to me, and I love their lore a lot, so it's being compiled here. <3
For now it's just a list of headcanons in vague chronological order!
• Rasmus and Björn fought alongside one another at the Battle of Helgeå against Aksel. The winter of 1026-27 they had set up a camp in Sarpsborg, and this is where they shared their first kiss. They were laying next to each other in the grass beneath a meteor shower when Rasmus rolled over on top of Björn and kissed him. Later, once the weather began to warm, the combined forces made their long overland trek to Trøndelag and stopped at a farm Rasmus owned in Folldalen. Here Björn teased that they could start a farm and live together when their kingdoms were finally at peace, and centuries later, Gustav actually built Rasmus a sveitserstil house there during their union.
• The silver heart that was found under the floorboards of a medieval era church in Nya Lödöse was actually made by Gustav for Rasmus. They haven't reclaimed it but instead let it stay on display at the Gotëborg Museum and the mystery linger.
• For their third and final union, they didn't actually get married until the 1830s. For all intents and purposes they were always in a relationship but Rasmus was scared of being in another marriage due to everything that'd happened with Aksel. When the time came and Ras said yes, they had photos taken for their wedding; Ras still has the original in a heart-shaped frame on his wall and a less delicate copy stored in a firebox in case something ever happens to it. Gustav's original was half-burned in a fireplace...intentionally...but he still has it, too. Rasmus' face in the photo was damaged so it wasn't until the 1940s that Gustav was able to see the whole thing again, when he was helping Rasmus move into a new house postwar and found the frame in a box.
• Rasmus' favorite desserts to share with Gustav are kanelboller and carrot cake.
• They have two children together, Aurora and Karl, who were adopted.
