it's been really hot lately...most of the globe seems to be experiencing a heatwave right now, us included. the heat index a few days ago was over 100 ( ･ᴗ･̥̥̥ ) i've been finding ways to cope though! luckily i found my favorite COOLish lemonade pouches at the store and i stocked up on cooling wipes and face mist that have been making the heat tolerable the few times i've had to be out in it. i went to my city's fourth of july/america 250 fireworks show and the weather was actually kind of nice, despite the humidity

i'm taking advantage of the cool indoors and a new AC unit by engaging in hobbies i haven't touched in a while! this site is one of them, but i've also been drawing, watching a lot of movies and anime i've been meaning to, and replaying persona 4 for the millionth time (˶` ꒳ ´˶) i'm excited for the remake, but honestly not exactly hopeful that the writing is going to be any better than p4g in terms of yosuke's social link. even kanji's story seems to be getting scrubbed. still i'm going to shill out another $80 to atlus for a third version of p4, it's inevitable

fields of mistria will be updating soon and minecraft will be updating in the fall too. i'm looking forward to the dappled forest biome, i'm a sucker for fall-themed things! whenever i start a forever world i'd ideally like my base to be in a dappled forest near cherry blossom and snowy spruce forest biomes...i'm sure the perfect seed exists out there somewhere.

speaking of minecraft, monday was spent putting together this lego set i bought on a whim. the fox is my favorite mob and i've been wanting to do another lego set so this was perfect! it's hard to find minecraft merch that's not like a kiddy toy but who doesn't like legos, yk?

a new shop opened near me that i've heard my friends up north talk about a lot and made my first stop by. i was a tiny bit disappointed world market has no norwegian foodstuffs, but i'm impressed otherwise! i ended up finding a lot of irish groceries i'm familiar with, even some things i can usually only get in washington, and i picked up a cute little canadian treat that stood out to me for funsies. i wasn't expecting to find violet crumble but was happy i did because i haven't had one since middle school. it's near the mall of georgia too and getting between them isn't a pain in the ass, so i can see myself going back pretty regularly! (i will have to soon anyways — the cashier at lush tipped me off on a collab with moomin dropping next week)

all last month i was rooting for norway in the world cup and i'm so super proud they officially made it to quarter finals!! norway hasn't been to the world cup in 28 years and this is the furthest they've ever made it. it's been fun watching everyone catch up on haaland lore and fall in love with the team. they deserve all the hype and more. i wish the country was close enough that i could justify a short notice trip for VM celebrations if they win... the heartache of being so far from the love is real ദ്ദി╥ ᴗ ╥) but we persevere! i'm making do watching the games and sporting the jersey wherever i can. my best friend overseas was down to get me one of haaland's hair ties which i am ETERNALLY GRATEFUL FOR!! i just have to wait until september to get it. i'm a patient person, i think!
